CUMBRE DEL SOL (Summit of the Sun)
The Costa Blanca (White Coast) region of Spain is now one of the most cosmopolitan areas in Europe, having a coastline of over 200 kms and made up of some of the finest beaches, some of which enjoy a 'blue flag' status. It has one of the best climates in the world as defined by the UN's World Health Organisation. Enjoying on average over 300 days of sunshine a year, summer temperatures rarely fall below 30C whilst winters are typically very mild with average temperatures around 18C, making it an all year round holiday destination. With low cost budget airlines flying to Alicante, Valencia and Murcia, Casa Rosado on the Cumbre del Sol is very accessable and is only a few hours away!!
Cumbre del Sol is situated in the heart of the White Coast, covering nearly 4 million m² of mountainous landscape. The Cumbre falls in the area of Benitachell, which is located mid-way between Javea and Moraira and belongs to the province of Alicante. Benitachell is typical of a small Spanish village; many of its houses date back many years and open directly onto the streets. Benitachell is a charming village and well worth a visit. Many locals continue to collect fresh water from the well which can be found at the top of the hill near the church.

The views out to see are absolutely fantastic - you'll be amazed by the most spectacular cliffs which drop away down to the sea; here you'll find fantastic beaches and coves just waiting to be explored. The 360° views from the summit are breathtaking - a trip up the steep road to the top is thoroughly recommended. On a clear day the island of Ibiza is visible on the horizon. And yet at the same time, the views inland to the mountains across the rooftops of the villas and apartments that make up this exclusive area are just as amazing.

Cumbre del Sol comprises exclusive residential areas where you' ll find individual villas and apartments: all are surrounded by green protected parks and next to the Mediterranean Sea. Due to the nature of the area, it's well worth taking time to explore - both the coastal areas, the mountainous areas, or just walk through the streets enjoying the sights of all the very impressive villas. The villas and apartments on the Cumbre del Sol are all unique; some, as you can see from the photograph above, are built precariously close to the cliff's edge. There are a number of view points from which you can enjoy a variety of views, both out to sea and also back to the land enjoying the spectacular cliffs.

At the nearby 'Lirios' centre you'll find a variety of businesses including a cabaret bar, an Irish Bar and a great Chinese restaurant which offers set menus (including wine) at ridiculously low prices. For youngsters there is a small play area with plenty of shade, swings and playground games. A short drive away, on the north side of the mountain, there is a very well stocked supermarket 'Pepe la Sal', a bank, a pharmacy, a medical centre, a restaurant, and a community pool open to all along with poolside bar (shown in the small photograph above).
